Dear Acetate – welcome to our blog
Hi we’re the band Dear Acetate. We thought it was about time we started a blog so you catch up on what we’re up to. Here’s a little bit of info about us:
–
Punked-up-indie meets dance-rock. Dear Acetate produce angular melodic tunes, powered by rhythms that make you want to move, firing a frenetic energy that translates through to their live shows.
The band are currently in the studio recording their self-produced debut album, scheduled for release later in the year. Many of the songs that will feature on the album can be seen performed live in the myspace video section, recorded live in June at Blackpool Winter Gardens, whilst supporting The Proclaimers. The album will include a number of previously unrecorded songs, as well as new versions of promo tracks featured online, hopefully whetting your appetite for the real thing.
Based in Hertfordshire but originally hailing from as far and wide as Tipperary, Blackpool, Glasgow and Hemel Hempstead; the band formed in January 2006. By the end of the year they’d played the 1000 capacity Aylesbury Civic, as main support to seminal indie band The Wonder Stuff, and shared the bill at Proud Galleries with Scouting for Girls. Catching the ear of Embrace frontman Danny McNamara, the band played (as NME describe it) “super-hip new band night Another Music = Another Kitchen” for his birthday bash and Embrace end of year party.
